Capital Improvement Project: Congregation has taken the first step to making some repairs and improvements to LCOR.  The major areas of concern were the Heating/AC systems for the two oldest units; the leaking roofs; leaking windows; meeting handicapped standards; replacing floors in social quarters; and alteration of entrance doors to the narthex of the main sanctuary.  At the meeting it was decided to proceed with heating/AC as the first project since some funds were available to draw upon and cold weather approaching.  The request for proposals was mailed and some replies have already been received.  Technical reviews and negotiations will be the next step.  It was also agreed that we would not proceed with the other projects until funds were available to cover them.  You will be seeing articles in the bulletins, the Good News, in the mail, and by personal contact regarding the funding needs.  It was further decided that gifts and pledges would be sought.  We need to know what we have and what we anticipate receiving before approaching the lending institutions for loans.  A committee of volunteers has agreed to work together to see the program through.  They will be contacting each of you. Please be gracious in receiving them.  We realize that just as the birds of the sky, everyone’s ability to give is different, but no gift is too small.  Your prayers are also requested that this might all be to the Glory of God.
